VOLUNTEER SITE COORDINATOR-- BROOKLYN CRIMINAL COURT

LIFT’s Access to Justice Criminal Court Initiative:

After over a decade of providing one-of-a-kind services to litigants of Family Court, LIFT is proud to announce that it has expanded its scope to include individuals involved in the criminal court system. In early autumn of 2006, LIFT launched an Education and Information Site in the Brooklyn Criminal Court. The site provides practical legal information, compassionate guidance, and referrals to community-based organizations to all who request services, with a special emphasis on crime victims.

The site operates several days a week and is run entirely by volunteers.  Empowered by extensive training from LIFT staff, volunteers provide practical legal information and referrals to neighborhood-based social and legal service providers to individuals embroiled in the criminal court system.
