LIFT - Programmatic Overview

All of LIFT's programs address the complexities families face in the New York City Family by providing vitally important legal information, compassionate guidance, and referrals to neighborhood-based social and legal service organizations. Our programs include:

Education & Information Sites located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens Family Courts;
A Legal Education Program –providing community-based educational workshops on family law topics throughout New York City's neighborhoods;
A Legal Information Hotline;
The Judge for a Day Program; and
The Family Legal Center

LIFT also creates and distributes Family Law resource guides which provide information about a wide-range of matters addressed in the Courts. The guides are available in Chinese, English, Haitian/Creole, Korean, Russian, and Spanish.

We are now in the process of creating a more sophisticated in-house database with which to track and analyze all of the data we collect, and are working with the Rensselaerville Institute to refine our outcome measures.
