New York City Family Courts continue to operate virtually. In general, the courts are prioritizing emergency matters and scheduling hearings for cases that were filed before the pandemic. Although the courthouses are generally closed to the public, you can file for an order of protection in person if you do not have access to a phone or internet. You can also make an appointment to pick up a copy of your court records in person.
Are you representing yourself in New York Family Court? We want the court to hear from you.
For a limited time, the New York courts are conducting a survey about how well they are serving New Yorkers like you during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The more feedback the courts get from people like you, the more likely it is that the court can address the barriers that you face. Your opinion matters, make your voice heard. All responses will be anonymous and will not affect your case in any way. Your response will still be counted even if you do not answer all the questions.
